Reap (The Harvest Saga #1)

by

Blurb:

The remnants of the United States of America have been divided. From five enormous, technologically-advanced cities, the Greaters rule over the Lessers.

In the Lesser village of Orchard, things are not as perfect as Abby Kelley thinks they are. When the apple harvest draws near and the Greaters' engineered fruits become too much for one village to handle alone, reinforcements from neighboring villages are called upon.

Having to choose between her best friend, whom she has no romantic feelings for, and mysterious newcomer Crew, Abby finds herself in the middle of a harvest that she had no intention of becoming a part of. She becomes involved in a situation that threatens the strict rule of the Greaters, and just might give the Lessers hope for a better tomorrow. But, can she help the Lessers without losing Crew?

Author Interview:
How did you come up with the idea behind Reap?
I don’t know, honestly. I just got this idea that maybe the divide between the haves and have-nots was getting too big and wondered what a dystopian society divided along those lines and lines that one cannot help (genetic predispositions) might look like.
How long did it take you to write Reap?
It took a few months, several revisions, edits, etc. Some books take me longer to write and some have come faster. This is probably average for me.
When you write your characters do you fill out a character profile for each character or do you just let them form as you write?
I let them form as I write and I make a profile as I go, adding to it when I need to so that I remember things. Sometimes, I’ll be really into a scene and think, “Was the scar on his left brow or his right?” LOL!
What's a typical writing day look like for you?
No day is typical for me. I have kiddos, so their schedules are unpredictable and so is my writing time. I write when I can and when I feel like it and don’t sweat the rest. It works for me. I think I would personally cave under too high of daily or weekly expectations.
How many books do you have out so far?
Um….I have fifteen, counting anthologies and serial series (as one book)! That’s a lot of writing! Wowza!
What can we expect to see from you for the rest of 2015?
I’m working on another amazing anthology with the ladies who co-wrote Fractured Glass. I’m digging into Temptation, a spin-off from the Sin Serial Series and have a few projects simmering on the back burner. Hopefully, I can get a couple more books out before the end of the year. We shall see! J
What's your favorite book? That’s a loaded question, Cindy! I would have to say that my go-to author is Amy A. Bartol. Her Premonition and Kricket Series are absolutely amazing! #fangirl
What's your favorite book that you've written?
The Harvest Saga (don’t make me choose among the three!) and Catalyst, probably because it’s written within the Saga’s world! J
