Review: My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century by Rachel Harris

Author: Rachel Harris

Publisher: Entangled Teen

Release Date: September 18th 2012

Genre: Young Adult Fantasy/Time Travel

Blurb:

On the precipice of her sixteenth birthday, the last thing lone wolf Cat Crawford wants is an extravagant gala thrown by her bubbly stepmother and well-meaning father. So even though Cat knows the family’s trip to Florence, Italy, is a peace offering, she embraces the magical city and all it offers. But when her curiosity leads her to an unusual gypsy tent, she exits . . . right into Renaissance Firenze.

Thrust into the sixteenth century armed with only a backpack full of contraband future items, Cat joins up with her ancestors, the sweet Alessandra and protective Cipriano, and soon falls for the gorgeous aspiring artist Lorenzo. But when the much-older Niccolo starts sniffing around, Cat realizes that an unwanted birthday party is nothing compared to an unwanted suitor full of creeptastic amore. Can she find her way back to modern times before her Italian adventure turns into an Italian forever?

My Review:

There was so much awesomeness going down in this book. Gorgeous setting? Check. Time travel? Check. Yummy Italian guy? Check. Strong heroine? Check. Witty dialogue? Check.
I could go on and on. This book was amazing and fun. I really enjoyed watching Cat grow from a suspicious loner to a young woman who was able to love and be loved.

Lorenzo was fantastic. Ohhhh man. I definitely have a new guy to add to my book boyfriend list! I loved reading about his golden curls, flirty personality, and artistic flair.

Overall, this was an excellent read. I'm dying to read the next book. I'll definitely be reading more of Rachel Harris' books in the future. Rachel consider yourself stalked. Haha.

My Rating:

I'm currently in the process of reading the second book in this series and HOPEFULLY will be reading the ARC of the third book for the blog tour celebrating the release.
